Come out with the Lincoln Heights Community to clean up the Park! Volunteers will beautify the Park by raking leaves, picking up and bagging litter, picking up any fallen limbs, etc. Breakfast/lunch and beverages are provided. This is a family-friendly event - anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a parent/adult.
THANK YOU for choosing to Volunteer with Park & Recreation! Below are a few tips and reminders for a SAFE & PRODUCTIVE Volunteer experience:
- Wear long pants (and long sleeves, suggested), for protection from scratches and/or poison ivy.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED, NO sandals or flip-flops. Wear OLDER shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, wet or muddy.
- Wear heavy-duty work gloves - bring your own gloves if you have them, extras will be available.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen for protection from sun exposure and bring your preferred bug spray.
- Use a large, refillable water bottle; to stay hydrated, avoid the need to refill, and to protect the environment from single-use plastic bottles.
- Be aware that there is NO RESTROOM available at this location.
PARKING: Use the listed address for Lincoln Heights Park - 1819 Catherine Simmons Avenue, 28216. This is a walk-up park, with only a very small parking lot - please park legally along the street, near the playground and community garden.
