Join us for a SUNDAY AFTERNOON Fall workday at Winterfield Community Garden!
We are looking for 10-15 adult Volunteers plus youth ages 12 and up, to help prepare our Community Garden for winter. In addition to covering empty plots, we will be putting away hoses and tools, sweeping out our tool shed, collecting seeds, and harvesting sun chokes.
Participants can check out our education garden to see all the crops we can grow in the NC Piedmont during the cool season, and even take home some of our extra Brown-eyed Susan (Rudbekiah triloba) plants. As a treat, we will boil up some home-grown peanuts to share!
Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
VOLUNTEERS will help with garden tasks such as:
- Raking, digging, moving mulch.
- Laying down cardboard.
- Bring your own work gloves, hat and water bottle - we'll provide tools and materials for the projects, and extra cold water.
- NO RESTROOMS ON SITE
Come to celebrate the work we get done!
Volunteers must READ and acknowledge the Liability Waiver/Acknowledgment of Risk in their Response - PARENTS must acknowledge for any minors who will attend.
