Join us for the BIGGEST world-wide Volunteer effort of the year! On this date Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and Keep Charlotte Beautiful work together to help clean up litter from Frazier Park, Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways, the streams and the surrounding neighborhood streets!
THANK YOU for choosing to Volunteer with Park & Recreation and our partners, and for participating in the "WORLD CLEANUP DAY 2023" initiative! Volunteers may choose to clean up the Park and Greenways; the neighborhood streets; or work in the stream. Below are a few tips and reminders for a SAFE & PRODUCTIVE Volunteer experience:
- Wear long pants for protection from scratches.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED, NO sandals or flip-flops. Wear OLDER shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, wet or muddy. *Some waders will be available if you choose to work in the stream.
- Wear heavy-duty work gloves – bring your own gloves for health and safety, extras will be available.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen for protection from sun exposure; and your preferred bug spray.
- Face coverings are optional, especially outdoors. Please use your own judgment, understanding that there is still some risk regarding Covid.
- Bring your own water in a large, refillable water bottle; to stay hydrated, avoid the need to refill, and to protect the environment from single-use plastic bottles.
