Girl Scouts from all over Mecklenburg County will be participating in a fun day outdoors at McDowell Nature Preserve, building their skills and earning badges in various activities.
VOLUNTEERS will assist with directing Scouts to activity stations and/or help with badge skill activities, and act as general chaperones for groups of Scouts. Two (2) shifts are available: 9:00am-12:30pm and 12:30-4:00pm - you may register for ONE OR BOTH shifts.
NOTE: Volunteers may be required to hike for long distances; stand for long periods of time; and/or ride a County van with Scouts.
For this OUTDOOR day of activities, Volunteers are encouraged to:
- Bring a backpack with extra layers of clothing and wear a hat and gloves to stay warm.
- Bring a (full) refillable water bottle to stay hydrated and to protect the environment from single-use disposable bottles.
- Bring a bag lunch (No kitchen/warming available).
