Winterfield Community Garden is planning a workday for our members and community Volunteers!
Please join us for this workday on Saturday, August 27th, 9:30am-11:30am! Volunteers will help with:
- Building a 6" drainage area at the base of our Garden Gazebo to keep water away from the foundation
- Creating a 2' x 20' block raised bed: This involves digging a footing; mixing and pouring Sakrete; and setting the border blocks
- Graveling a 8' x 4' area underneath an arbor: remove mulch from area under the arbor and move gravel to fill in
- Installing rubber edging along our front fence; then filling in with cardboard/ground cloth
- Trellising our blackberry vines: using ties, we will attach thornless blackberry vines to the trellis
- Please bring your own work gloves and water bottle - we'll provide tools and materials for the projects
Volunteers must READ and acknowledge the Liability Waiver/Acknowledgment of Risk in their Response - PARENTS must acknowledge for any minors who will attend; and add a note in their response for anyone under the age of 13 who will Volunteer (Must be at least 13 to have a separate account).
