Believe it or not, in the Carolina Piedmont the growing season starts in late February! Peas and other cold-hardy crops can be sown providing the soil is ready and the weather cooperates. Join experienced gardeners for a bed-building and "body-building" good time in the great outdoors - weather and time permitting we will sow some seeds! We will provide a cooler of water - please bring a refillable water bottle. Note that the water taps are NOT turned on yet (OFF from November through March).
Please bring your own work gloves and hand tools/clippers if you have them - We'll have some equipment on hand.
Wear long pants, long sleeves; and sturdy, closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED!
*Be warned: No restroom facilities at or close to this site.
PARKING: Use the listed address for GPS - 3105 Winterfield Place, 28205 - the Garden is on the right directly across from Winterfield Elementary School. Park on the street in front of the Garden's main entrance, or in the school parking lot.
