Description

Welcome to the Fall season! "Project Captain" Bruce Chapman leads Volunteers in caring for James Boyce Park and restoring natural habitat by removing invasive plants. We will cut and/or pull up invasive English ivy, privet and autumn olive, giving native plants a better home to grow. Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all Volunteers!

Use the listed address for the Park - 300 Boyce Road, 28211 - and meet by the kiosk, near the restroom building in the last parking area. 

  • Volunteers must be at least age 10
  • Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent/adult
  • Wear long pants, long sleeves and sturdy, closed-toe shoes for safety - Dress for the weather!
  • Must provide your own WORK gloves and pruners/clippers
  • Bring a refillable water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray (if needed) and a hat
