Who should attend? County residents who want to help on an ongoing basis with control of invasive plants that are crowding out native vegetation.

GOALS:

  • Recognize common invasive plant species found in the Mecklenburg County area.
  • Acquire knowledge of herbicide-free plant removal techniques.
  • Connect with Park & Recreation's Volunteer Services to become a registered/approved long-term Volunteer/Project Captain.

What to bring/wear:

  • Bring work gloves if you have them - extras will be available.
  • Wear long pants (and long sleeves, suggested) and closed-toe shoes, REQUIRED.
