Use your green thumb and assist the McDowell Nature Center/Preserve staff in getting ready for their annual plant sale! Volunteers will be separating seedlings and repotting as needed. Volunteers might also be helping with care of the other plants for sale or any weeding needed. Gardening experience is helpful but not required - we will teach you!
LOCATION: Use the listed address for McDowell Nature Preserve - after turning into the Preserve from S. York Road, turn right at the 1st driveway. Don't be deterred by the sign that says, "Authorized Vehicles only"! Please do not park directly in front of the log cabin building. Extra parking is across the street at the campground.
- Dress in clothes that you can get dirty! We will be spending time outside and in a heated greenhouse so clothing layers are needed.
- Closed-toe shoes and long pants/sleeves are required.
- Bring a refillable water bottle; and garden gloves if you have them (optional).
