HELP US CELEBRATE "EARTH DAY 2025!" On this date, Park & Recreation partners with Keep Charlotte Beautiful and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services to conduct a combined Park/Recreation Center grounds, Street and Stream litter cleanup!
Volunteers will be able to choose how they would like to help, focusing on the grounds of Bette Rae Thomas Recreation Center, on the surrounding neighborhood streets, and/or cleaning up the stream/tributary at Enderly Park - in this huge annual effort to care for our whole environment!
PARKING: Use the listed address for GPS - 2921 Tuckaseegee Road, 28208 - and park as directed in the Recreation Center lot. Look for signs and staff!
Please plan to arrive early, so that we can check in Volunteers, divide into Park, Stream and Street teams, and review safety instructions.
- Volunteers should plan to bring their own work gloves (extras will be available) and water supply.
- Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes (REQUIRED, NO sandals, Crocs or flip-flops!) If you plan to work in the stream, some waders will be provided; or you can wear waterproof shoes/boots.
- Anyone under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult!
- Each Volunteer should sign up individually in order to acknowledge their review of, and agreement with, the Volunteer Waiver and Safety Guidelines - READ and click to acknowledge in your response.
