Volunteer: FAIRY HOUSE FESTIVAL 2026

FAIRY HOUSE FESTIVAL is Latta Nature Preserve's annual celebration of Nature! We'll create opportunities for kids and families to enjoy the day in the Preserve and experience a little bit of Nature's magic. 

Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks in all aspects of the event, including but not limited to: set-up, clean-up, crafts, games, registration, fairy house building, campfire, obstacle course, etc. Volunteers are needed during 2 shifts: 9:00am-1:00pm or 12:00-4:00pm - you may sign up for either shift or BOTH. Lunch will be provided for Volunteers working both shifts only. Snacks/goody bags for all! 

Please dress for the weather - the Fairy House Festival is a RAIN OR SHINE (or SNOW) event! Many staff and participants wear fairy-themed costumes for this event, so please do so if it makes you happy! Volunteer badges will be provided. 

*Volunteers must be at least age 16! Please also note that adult Volunteers must register and pay for children to attend the Festival (if they are not also Volunteering).

Volunteer: SEED LIBRARY PREP DAY at Reedy Creek Nature Center - March 2026

Reedy Creek Nature Center maintains a Native Plant Seed Library, providing free native plant seeds to visitors and community members. We use seeds gathered from our own Native Plant Garden as well as seeds from native plants in our area donated by visitors. We need help getting the seeds cleaned, packaged and labeled so they can be set out for visitors to take home and sow.

VOLUNTEERS will clean and process seeds (may involve breaking open seed pods, removing fluff/chaff, etc.), sort them into seed envelopes, label and seal the envelopes, and add an information sheet to each packet. 2 shifts are available for this date: 10am-12:00 and 1pm-3pm - you may sign up for either shift or for both!

This event takes place in the indoor Classroom; all supplies and materials are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.
