*POSTPONED TO FRIDAY, APRIL 12 due to weather!!
Join us to celebrate EarthShare Corporate Earth Day 2024, by conducting a thorough litter cleanup of Camp Greene Park, the Stewart Creek tributary within the Park, and the surrounding neighborhood streets! The City of Charlotte's "Keep Charlotte Beautiful" program teams up with Park & Recreation and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services, to help take care of our city and its natural environment during this annual celebration.
PARKING: Use the listed address for GPS - 1221 Alleghany Street, 28208 - after turning into the Park, turn left and park at the "far" end of the lot, close to the restroom/concession building. Look for signs!
THANK YOU for choosing to Volunteer with Park & Recreation and our partners! Below are a few tips and reminders for a SAFE & PRODUCTIVE Volunteer experience:
- Wear long pants for protection from scratches.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED, NO sandals or flip-flops. Wear OLDER shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, wet or muddy. *If you plan to Volunteer by cleaning the STREAM, waterproof boots or water shoes are best – some waders will be available.
- Wear heavy-duty work gloves – bring your own gloves if you have them, extras will be available.
- Litter pickers and trash bags will be provided.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen for protection from sun exposure, and your preferred bug spray.
- Bring your own water in a large, refillable water bottle; to stay hydrated, avoid the need to refill, and to protect the environment from single-use plastic bottles.
