THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS POSTPONED FROM OCTOBER 1, DUE TO FORECASTED INCLEMENT WEATHER AND FOR EVERYONE'S SAFETY!
Volunteers support and supplement the work of our dedicated Park Maintenance staff by completing projects that may include spreading mulch, trimming limbs, weeding, trail maintenance, litter cleanup, planting/landscaping and other maintenance tasks to enhance the beauty and safety of our Parks, Nature Preserves and Greenways.
*On this date, we welcome Volunteers from the Coventry Woods Neighborhood Association and other residents, friends and neighbors, who will beautify Cedarwood Park by helping with various maintenance tasks which may include: trimming and removing limbs and brush, conducting a thorough litter cleanup, cleaning/clearing the Park sign area, etc.
PARKING: Cedarwood Park is a walk-up neighborhood Park – please park LEGALLY AND SAFELY along the street, on the PARK side of Reddman Road.
THANK YOU for choosing to Volunteer with Park & Recreation! Below are a few tips and reminders for a SAFE & PRODUCTIVE Volunteer experience:
- Wear long pants for protection from scratches.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED, NO sandals or flip-flops. Wear OLDER shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, wet or muddy.
- Wear heavy-duty work gloves - bring your own gloves for health and safety. Extras will be available.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen for protection from sun exposure; and your preferred bug spray, if needed.
- Face coverings are now optional, especially outdoors, when in the vicinity of other people. Please use your own judgment and respect others' space, understanding that there is still some risk regarding Covid.
- Use a large, refillable water bottle; to stay hydrated, avoid the need to refill, and to protect the environment from single-use plastic bottles. A water cooler for refilling will be available.
