Sign up today to help keep your favorite park or greenway clean and healthy by picking up litter! A great way to spend a couple of hours AT LUNCHTIME by getting outdoors and helping in your community. EXTENDED TIME on this date, as we help with detailed cleanup, just before the formal ribbon-cutting to REOPEN the Park after renovations!
Park and meet at L.C. Coleman Park, at the address listed here. After turning into the Park from East Blvd, continue to the Stop sign, then turn LEFT and continue to the large parking lot on the right, just past the soccer fields.
Below are a few tips and reminders for a SAFE & PRODUCTIVE Volunteer experience:
- Wear long pants or leggings (and long sleeves, suggested) for protection from scratches and poison ivy.
- Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes – REQUIRED, NO sandals, Crocs or flip-flops. Wear OLDER shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, wet or muddy.
- Bring your own heavy-duty work gloves – extras will be available; litter pickers and trash bags are provided.
- Wear a hat and sunscreen for protection from sun exposure; and your preferred bug spray, if needed.
- Bring your own water in a large, refillable water bottle; to stay hydrated, avoid the need to refill, and to protect the environment from single-use plastic bottles. A water cooler for refilling will be available.
