Come help with the FUN - it's time for the SUMMER season of BINGO! Programs for Seniors at the Northern Regional Recreation & Senior Center are always a big hit, and we LOVE having Volunteer help! Volunteers should be at least 16 years old - please dress in comfortable clothing (no tank tops, please) and wear closed-toe shoes.

BINGO Volunteers will assist with calling numbers and/or checking winning cards.

We are Bouncing Back to School - Join us for our Back to School Bash! Students Pre-K through 12th grade will have a great time bouncing on inflatables, visiting the tattoo and balloon artists and getting back to school supplies. This is a drop-in event, 10:00am-2:00pm. VOLUNTEERS are needed from 9:30am to 2:30pm!

Southview Recreation Center, in partnership with P.O.P. Community Outreach Church, is hosting its annual Back to School Event to help local students begin the school year confident and prepared! This free community event provides families with new backpacks, school supplies, and valuable community resources while supplies last. Families will also enjoy interactive activities and opportunities to connect with local organizations dedicated to supporting youth success.

VOLUNTEERS should dress comfortably in weather-appropriate clothing. Southview Recreation Center or Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation shirts are encouraged if available. Closed-toe shoes are required, and Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. 

EVENT takes place 12:00-3:00pm - Volunteers may register for one shift or for both:

Setup and Event Support: 9:30am-12:30pmEvent Support and Cleanup: 12:00-4:00pm

Volunteer Tasks:

Assist with event setup, including tables, chairs, decorations, signage, and supply stations. Welcome and direct participants upon arrival; assist with registration and check-in. Organize, sort, and restock backpacks and school supplies throughout the event. Help distribute backpacks and school supplies to families. Assist community partners with activity stations and information tables as needed. Monitor lines and help maintain an organized flow of participants. Assist with children’s activities and family engagement opportunities. Help keep the event area clean, safe, and organized. Assist with event breakdown and cleanup following the event.

It's Eastway Regional Recreation Center's BOUNCE Back to School Jam, and we are going big! This event will include over 20 bounce houses of all kinds, face painting, balloon artists, crafts, Italian Ice, music and more. There will be a backpack giveaway for all registered children. 

2 shifts are available for Volunteers - Choose 1 or both shifts when registering:

Morning/Setup Shift: 8:00am-1:00pmAfternoon/Breakdown Shift: 12:00-4:00pm

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old for this event! This OUTDOOR event is rain-or-shine - activities will shift indoors in case of stormy weather. Please wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather - closed-toe shoes/sneakers are required.

Join us for an end of summer celebration, our 3rd Annual Denim & White Party! Wear all denim, wear all white, or a combination of both! Food (catered from Olive Garden), drinks, dessert, and fun!
VOLUNTEERS will be needed for help with set up and final decorations, serving food and beverages, socializing with seniors, breakdown/cleanup, etc.

EVENT TIMES: 5:30pm-7:30pm - Volunteers needed 4:00pm-8:30pm or until finished with clean-up.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear denim, white or both - Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Volunteers should be at least 16 years old for this opportunity.

Celebrate the end of summer with a Soul Train-inspired block party featuring a live DJ playing classic R&B and Motown music, dancing, games, fellowship and a delicious meal served from a food truck! 

Volunteers are needed to help with setup/decoration, event operations and cleanup for this FUN event for Seniors, at Eastway Regional Recreation Center! Volunteers may help with setup of tables/chairs and decorations; signing in guests, serving food, etc.; tear-down and cleanup after the event.

2 shifts are available, Volunteers may sign up for either shift, or for BOTH:

Setup/Prep - 12:30-4:00pm Block Party (4-7pm) and cleanup - 3:30-7:30pm

> Volunteers should be at least 18 years old - Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes (REQUIRED) - Volunteers are welcome to dress in Soul Train attire!
