Volunteer: A WALK IN THE PARK XL at Grayson Park/Naomi Drenan Rec Center - April 28, 2026

Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation has been renovating and improving Naomi Drenan Recreation Center as well as completing improvements to the surrounding Grayson Park and Grayson Skatepark. Naomi Drenan Recreation Center is an existing 13,265 square foot recreation center. The Center has a gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, and kitchen. Renovations have included improvements to the building systems, main entry lobby, restrooms/lockers, new multi-purpose room and offices. 

Now that renovations to the Recreation Center are almost complete, a grand re-opening is scheduled for April 30 - and we need VOLUNTEERS to help with an EXTREME CLEANUP to get the Park grounds ready! Volunteers will complete tasks that may include limb and brush cutting and removal, "heavy" trash and debris cleanup, mulching, etc.

PARKING: Use the address listed here for Naomi Drenan Recreation Center - Park as directed and check in at the front of the Center, then divide into groups to work in the park and around the Recreation Center. Look for Park & Recreation signs and staff!
