Volunteer: Challenger Flag Football 2026 - PRACTICE DAYS

Don’t miss out on Challenger Flag Football (CFF) this fall! This exciting program is offered through Park & Recreation's Therapeutic & Inclusive Recreation Section, in partnership with the Carolina Panthers. The CFF league gives participants ages 7-12 (Junior League) and 13 and up (Senior League), with a disability, the opportunity to improve sportsmanship, experience teamwork, and enjoy football!
*This is an 8-week program - we are looking for energetic Volunteers who can attend every week!

The season runs from September 9 through October 31, with practices on Wednesdays (5:30-6:30pm) and games on Saturdays (9am-12:00). In addition, Volunteers are welcome to assist with our Jersey Reveal and Kickoff events, and the Jamboree - dates to be determined.  

Volunteers will assist with leading football drills and skills as well as coach teams and encourage and assist players on the field as needed. Wear athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes; hats are OK!

*You must be at least 18 years old to help with Adaptive Sports programs - all Coaches/CFF Volunteers must have a current application/background check on file. Contact VolunteerServices@MeckNC.gov if you need to apply or check your status.

Volunteer: Come CHEER with us this season! SPIRIT SQUAD 2026 (TIRS)

We have the pompoms & the uniforms...all we need is you! Spirit Squad is offered for individuals with disabilities, age 7 and up. We need Volunteers to help us get ready with our friends along with game day rituals, then march down to the field to cheer on the football players!
*This is an 8-week program - we are looking for energetic Volunteers who can attend every week!

The season runs from September 9 through October 31, with practices on Wednesdays (5:30-6:30pm) and games on Saturdays (9am-12:00). In addition, Volunteers are welcome to assist with our Jersey Reveal and Kickoff events, and the Jamboree - dates to be determined.  

Volunteers will be asked to assist weekly with coaching either youth or teen/adult cheer squad, depending on the volunteers' preference. Volunteers will be helping to teach various cheers, chants, and routines to the participants, and assisting with setup, breakdown, cleanup, etc. during special events.

Volunteer: Ready to Party? Volunteer at the HOWL-O-WEEN DANCE 2026 (TIRS)

Halloween is around the corner, and it's time to have some fun! Our annual Halloween dance is a time for participants ages 13 and up, with a disability, to dance, socialize with their friends, and have a "howling" good time! 

Wear your best costume to the HOWL-O-WEEN dance! Volunteers will assist with the dance by monitoring the dance floor, socializing with participants, and helping with clean up. The dance is from 6pm to 8pm - Volunteers arrive at 5:30pm to check in and receive instructions. 

Dress: Halloween costume or a Halloween-themed shirt with comfortable pants and closed-toe shoes. 

*You must be at least 18 years old to Volunteer with this program.
