Who We Are
The Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation Department is home to 230 parks and facilities located on more than 21,000 acres of parkland throughout Mecklenburg County. Parks in Mecklenburg County come in all shapes and sizes ranging from small neighborhood parks to large regional parks; as well as approximately 55 miles of completed Greenways and 26 Nature Preserves.

What We Do
Volunteers support and supplement the work of our dedicated Park Maintenance staff by completing projects that may include spreading mulch, trimming limbs, weeding, trail maintenance, painting, litter cleanup, planting/landscaping and other maintenance tasks to enhance the beauty and safety of our Parks, Nature Preserves and Greenways.
